Haikyuu!! Final Announcement

So, it has been announced today that Haikyuu!!, arguably the best sports anime of all time will have its final sagas concluded with a 2-part movie over a season 5.

Since February 2012, the volleyball-based anime/manga has been at the top of the game in the sports genre.

The first 3 seasons were released in 2014, 2015 and 2016. The anime community as far as I know absolutely loved every part of the story and this anime was the talk of a lot of forums for some time. It still is to this day.

However, season 4 was a split-cour production. The first set of episodes was released in early 2020 and the second half in December that year.

Now, over 18 months later, the fans have been waiting to hear about the future of the Haikyu anime. The Japanese website for the show confirms that the series will actually end with a two-part theatrical movie, not season 5.

To be honest with you all, I am absolutely mortified that they have decided to cram the finals of the series into a movie. With the fanbase Haikyuu!! has, we more than deserve a season 5 or even 6 to conclude the final stages of the highly-anticipated Nationals tournament.

I know I am not the only one that feels this way.

It is said that fans could see the film open in Japanese theatres as soon as September 2023. As for the rest of the world, the international release of movies is usually a couple of months after the original Japanese release, so we are looking at early 2024.

That's it for today!

The movie preview is below.
