Kaiju No. 8 Anime Premieres April 2023 And Staff Unveils Key Visual

The official Twitter account for the Kaiju No. 8 anime adaptation, based on Naoya Matsumoto's manga, unveiled the staff and a key visual.

The anime showcased two character visual types: one for the Japan Anti-Kaiju Defense Force and another for the central character, Kaiju No. 8. Production I.G will handle the animation, with Studio Khara managing the creature designs.

The anime is slated to premiere in April 2024. Check out the new visuals and cast below:

Naoya Matsumoto's Kaiju No. 8 manga began serialisation in July 2020 on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+. It has been compiled into 10 volumes. Viz Media holds the English license in North America, having published seven volumes to date, with the eighth scheduled for release on October 10, 2023.

The story follows Kafka's aspiration to join the Japan Defense Force and fight alongside his childhood friend, Mina. When Kafka becomes eligible for the Defense Force, he faces a challenge—he's on their neutralization list under the alias Kaiju No. 8.
